Cultural & Education Centre
Tepantar Pathshala
For over three decades, the Ebong Amra theatre group has been dedicated to the practice of theatre while actively engaging with the broader cultural landscape through research and exploration. To further this vision, we established Tepantar Natya Gram, a four-acre theatre village in Satkahonia, Paschim Bardhaman, with the dream of transforming it into a vibrant cultural hub. Alongside our artistic pursuits, we remain deeply committed to nurturing future generations by sharing our knowledge, experience, and artistic expertise.
As a step toward this commitment, we have launched Tepantar Pathshala, an educational and cultural initiative designed for the children of our region. This institution will provide a well-rounded learning experience, integrating academics with training in dance, music, visual arts, elocution, theatre, and traditional craftsmanship. Through this holistic approach, we aim to cultivate creativity, artistic sensitivity, and cultural awareness among young learners.
Entirely self-initiated, Tepantar Pathshala is a testament to our unwavering dedication to cultural enrichment, artistic excellence, and community empowerment. We believe that by fostering a nurturing environment for learning and artistic expression, we can inspire and shape the next generation of artists, thinkers, and cultural ambassadors.
Tepantar Pathshala aims to develop a well-equipped infrastructure and upgrade our existing ones to foster a holistic learning environment for children and artists. Planned facilities include classrooms and learning spaces, an open-air theatre, and rehearsal halls for theatre, music, and dance training. A library and resource center will provide access to books and research materials, while art and craft studios will support creative expression. Residential facilities for students and visiting artists, along with a community kitchen and dining area, will ensure a nurturing atmosphere. Additionally, children’s play areas, sustainable farming zones, and green spaces will promote environmental awareness. An exhibition and performance gallery will showcase student work, and administrative halls will facilitate program development. Through this infrastructure, Tepantar Pathshala will create an inclusive and immersive space for education, artistic excellence, and cultural enrichment.
